Tottington Higher End
Tottington Higher End, is a township in
the parish of Bury, from which town it is distant 6 miles N.N.W., and comprises
3,790 statute acres of land – its population in 1801 was 1,246, in 1841 it was
3,446, and at the present time it numbers upwards of 4,000 persons.
